ESL Koreans hotel shadowing Raffles and Fairmont 2015
8 students from Seoul Hoseo Technical College in South Korea attended a hospitality and English program at Enderun Colleges’ Tutorial and Language Center (TLC).
The three-week Hospitality English program is designed to enhance their communication skills in order to provide quality service to all types of customers. Students were exposed to various scenarios like taking phone calls and restaurant reservations. Aside from these, the course also covered resume writing, mock job interviews, and a wine appreciation class.
But, the most exciting part of Hospitality English was the hotel shadowing and hotel inspection activities. The Seoul Hoseo students went to Raffles and Fairmont Makati to see the facilities and scrutinize the hospitality culture and service of the company. Their final week was spent at Makati Shangri-La Hotel where they had the Hotel Shadowing activity. They were exposed to the hotel employees’ daily routine and performed tasks based on their designated positions.
